I just love the Book of Joshua in the Bible.
Joshua is one of my favorite people. Caleb and Joshua have been such a faith builder and courage strengthener for me throughout my life. Their courage and their faith in God is amazing. Once I discovered Joshua I wanted to be just like him. I loved that he was a servant to Moses, that he just stayed in the background watching, listening, following, and obeying Moses. Joshua experienced the glory of the Lord because he was with Moses on the mountains.
My Bible reading has brought me to Joshua again, and it is like reading it for the first time. So many wonderful truths and instructions. I don't think I would see it with such fresh eyes if it wasn't for my Pastor Kenny Gatlin, the truth of the word he imparts to us on a weekly basis opens our eyes and ears to see things that I wouldn't have seen before. I just listened to a CD called "What God Wants In Your Life." this CD focused on our "Love Walk". Jesus commanded us to love one another. Pastor Kenny expounded on our love walk should grow to the point that when we see our sisters or brothers dealing with a sickness that won't go, or a circumstance with their children or family, whatever it could be that we take up the battle with them (we don't have to let them know that we are doing it), we give up a meal or two to pray for them, we look up scriptures and declare over their situation, this is practicing and growing our love walk.Reading Joshua 1:13-15 (amp)
Remember what Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you saying, "The Lord your God is giving you (a place of) rest and will give you this land (east of the Jordan). Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall dwell in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan, but all your mighty men of valor shall pass on before your brethren armed and help them (possess the land). Until the Lord gives your brethren rest, as He has given you, and they also possess the land the Lord your God is giving them.
Here God is giving us an example of what our "love walk" should look and be like. When we pray or fast for others to receive healing, deliverance, to overcome the devil and every circumstance. We pray, we fast until our fellow believers "rest" in the promises of God. Not half way, but 100% possess everything God has for them.
Joshua 1:15....then you shall return to the land of your possessions and possess it, the land Moses the Lord's servant gave you on the sunrise side of the Jordan.
I love where it says, "on the sunrise side" that is what will happen when we walk in love with our fellow brothers and sisters, we will live (dwell) on the sunrise side of the promise.
A great man of God said, "You can't possess anything you don't have a revelation of."
We can do it! Let's do this! Love Walk - on the sunrise side!
